Life is a journey.
We travel with you.
A forgotten medicine. Feeling unwell far from home. A doctor you can understand.
How to receive assistance →When we can help.
You left a medicine at home
The pharmacy helps you contact a doctor to assess the situation and any need for a prescription usable in the country.
You feel unwell at your hotel
Reception at a participating property helps you request a video consultation. The doctor assesses your needs and advises on the next steps.
You have just arrived abroad
A participating hotel or pharmacy can help you access the network. You can check the availability of a doctor who understands your language.
Your access points to the network
How to access care.
Ask reception or the pharmacist whether they participate in Universal Doctor: they can check doctor availability, consultation language and service terms before you request care.
Ask about accessing the service →Medical cooperation, explained simply
A doctor who understands you.
A local colleague, when needed.
Universal Doctor brings together doctors from different countries. The professional speaking with you can involve a colleague licensed in the country you are visiting and share the information needed for your care.
- 01
Make yourself understood
Request a consultation in your language, depending on doctor availability. Explain your concern and share information about your health.
- 02
The doctors work together
When needed, a local colleague contributes to the assessment and decides the actions within their professional scope, including a local prescription when appropriate.
- 03
Your care continues
Receive guidance and consultation documents. A pharmacy can dispense the medicine when the prescription and local requirements allow it.
Doctors from different countries. A shared care pathway.
Universal Doctor® · Together for global health
Doctors united for global health.
Medici di Paesi diversi. Un percorso di cura condiviso.
Illustrative example: cities and images do not indicate actual service coverage. Each doctor acts within their professional licences and applicable rules.
Technology in service of people
Behind a video consultation,
a system for collaboration.
The platform supports professionals in communicating, sharing clinical information, managing reports and prescriptions, and coordinating the handover between doctors.
Video consultation and collaboration
The patient speaks with a doctor; professionals can consult each other and share the information needed for assessment. Medical cooperation connects their expertise along the same care pathway.
Different languages, shared clinical references
The World Health Organization’s ICD-11 classification provides shared references for describing clinical information. Universal Doctor integrates these references through WHO APIs. Its use does not imply WHO certification or partnership.
Reports, signatures and prescriptions
The workflow includes clinical document management and the professional’s signature. Universal Doctor integrates Italy’s Tessera Sanitaria / SOGEI system for the relevant pathways. Prescription validity and use depend on the country and applicable rules.
Interoperability and European pathways
The project considers European health interoperability pathways, including MyHealth@EU. Service availability and use depend on the countries involved: a prescription is not automatically usable everywhere.
Doctor identity and data protection
Accreditation, professional identification and access management support the pathway. Health information requires clear roles and appropriate access: hotels and pharmacies facilitate the service within their respective roles. Each portal’s privacy notice describes data processing.
Join the network
Support travelers.
Create value for those who welcome and care for them.
Doctors provide medical care. Hotels and pharmacies bring access closer to people: each contributes through a distinct role.
For doctors
Bring your expertise
across borders.
Put your expertise at the service of travelers. Participate in video consultations and collaborate with colleagues in other countries within your professional qualifications and licences.
How to apply for accreditation
Apply through the Doctors portal and follow the professional verification process. Once enabled, access the dedicated area and complete your profile and availability.
For hotels
Offer true luxury:
time and health.
A seven-star service.
When a guest needs a doctor, reception can help them reach the network. The property provides access to video consultations and helps the guest make a request.
How your property can join
Submit an accreditation request through the Hotel portal. After receiving credentials, authorised staff enter the operational portal through the Login button.
For pharmacies
Missing a prescription?
Don’t turn the request away. Help address it.
Help the traveler contact a doctor. When an appropriate and usable prescription is issued, you can dispense the medicine: an additional service for travelers and an opportunity for the pharmacy.
How to enable your pharmacy
Apply for accreditation through the Pharmacy portal. Once enabled, the pharmacy receives credentials to access the services available under the programme.
Value for the community
Care for those who travel.
Support those who welcome them.
The project aims to simplify access to care for travelers and support an appropriate response to non-urgent needs, helping reduce unnecessary emergency department visits.
Medicine is no longer tied to a place. It is tied to people.
Who is behind Universal Doctor
An idea born in Campania.
An international vision.
Universal Doctor® is a MedCare Engineering S.r.l. project conceived by Valentina Flaminio. Its vision is to bring together doctors from different countries and make care more accessible to people traveling.

Standards and health infrastructures
The systems that allow professionals to share information, manage prescriptions and work across borders.
Universal Doctor integrates the ICD-11 classification through World Health Organization APIs, providing shared clinical references to doctors in different countries. This use does not imply WHO certification or partnership.
Integration with Italy’s Tessera Sanitaria / SOGEI system supports the relevant dematerialised prescription pathways in Italy.
The project considers European health interoperability pathways. Availability and use depend on the countries involved and the applicable rules.
Partnerships, collaborations and support
A network that connects healthcare, hospitality, research and public support around the person who travels.

Before you begin
The answers you need.
How can I request assistance today?
Ask reception at a participating hotel or an accredited pharmacy: they can help you check access to the service. Independent access through the app is coming. Languages, hours and services depend on professionals and the country.
Can I speak in my own language?
The network is designed to help you contact a doctor who understands your language. Availability must be checked when requesting care; shared clinical references help professionals cooperate.
Does a consultation always result in a prescription?
The doctor decides after assessing your situation. If a locally usable prescription is needed, a locally licensed colleague may be involved. Dispensing also depends on local rules and medicine availability.
What are the Hotel and Pharmacy programme prices?
Prices communicated for the Hotel and Pharmacy programme. Check the included service and applicable terms before purchasing. Any services provided independently by the property are communicated and invoiced separately. Universal Doctor does not pay commissions to hotels or pharmacies.
Is joining the network free?
Enrolment is free for hotels and pharmacies within the project supported by the Campania Region and the European Union, subject to its terms. This does not make consultations, medicines or other services free. Enrolment agreements specify the applicable conditions.
What about an emergency?
Contact local emergency services. A video consultation does not replace emergency care.
